The final walk-through: what to check before you sign
Your last look before closing.
Right before closing, you'll usually get a final walk-through. It's not a second inspection. It's your chance to make sure the home is in the condition you agreed to.
What to check:
- Any repairs the seller agreed to are done
- Lights, faucets, toilets, furnace and appliances work
- No new damage since you last saw it
- Anything that was supposed to stay (like appliances) is still there
Your small step
Bring a copy of your agreed repairs and a phone charger so you can test outlets. If something's wrong, tell your agent before you sign anything at closing.
